Viagra Connect is a medication designed to help men with Erectile Dysfunction (ED).
Who can take Viagra Connect?
Viagra Connect is suitable for men aged 18 years and older who experience symptoms of erectile dysfunction. It is available over the counter in pharmacies throughout Ireland so you can purchase it without a prescription.
Viagra Connect can help if you:

- have difficulty achieving an erection,
- struggle to maintain an erection firm enough for sex,
- experience inconsistent erections during sexual activities.

Who should not take Viagra Connect?
While Viagra Connect can be beneficial for many men with ED, it is not suitable for everyone. You should not take Viagra Connect if you:
- are under 18 years of age,
- do not have erection problems,
- are taking certain medications that may interact with Viagra Connect,
- are a woman. Viagra Connect has not been tested on women, so its effects are unknown,
- have certain health conditions that make its use unsafe.
Viagra Connect is not intended for men without erectile dysfunction. It will not increase sexual desire or help with certain conditions such as premature ejaculation. It is advised that you speak with your doctor or pharmacist about any health concerns you may have.
Questions to Expect at the Pharmacy
Before buying Viagra Connect, you will need to answer some questions about your current health. The pharmacist will ask you questions related to:
- your heart health, and any known family health conditions,
- underlying medical conditions. such as high blood pressure or diabetes,
- current medications,
How to take Viagra Connect for best results
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your pharmacist or doctor have told you. Check with your pharmacist or doctor if you are not sure.

- take one tablet about 1 hour before sexual activity
- swallow the tablet whole with water
- do not take more than one tablet a day
Viagra Connect usually starts working within 30 to 60 minutes, so take your time and relax. It can help to engage in foreplay with your partner, just as you would if you were not taking a medicine for erectile dysfunction.
All men with erectile dysfunction are advised to consult their doctor within 6 months of starting to use Viagra Connect for a clinical review of potential underlying conditions and risk factors associated with erectile dysfunction (ED).
Be patient and relax
If it has been some time since you were able to get or keep an erection, it may take a couple of attempts before you achieve the desired effect. You can always try again, but remember you can only take 1 tablet a day.
Remember, you will not get an instant erection simply by taking Viagra Connect. It is also important to note that while Viagra Connect can be taken with or without food, if you have a high-fat meal it may take longer for the effects to start working.
What to do if it doesn’t work
If, after several separate occasions, you do not see results from taking Viagra Connect, consult your doctor for advice. It may be that this treatment is unsuitable for you and your doctor can discuss other available treatment options .
If you feel the effect of Viagra Connect is too strong, talk to your pharmacist or doctor.
